Various cross-cultural matters that have influenced the Modern discourse in post-industrial Europe, development of Architecture and Urbanism after the industrial revolution and the technological advancements brought about in the late 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, conditions that have influenced and shaped the built environment, analytical and critical understanding of architecture, the question of style (Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Eclecticism and Rationalism), emerging modern movements and the impact of capitalism and fascism (Arts and Crafts, Avant Guarde, Modernism).
