EDUC234 | TEACHING AND LEARNING IN HETEROGENEOUS CLASSROOMS

This course discusses and explains the concept of heterogeneous classes, diversity in the classroom and effective approaches in managing and teaching such classes. Further, this course focuses on the individual differences among students pertaining to their abilities, motivation, interests, learning styles, personal experiences and social and cultural backgrounds. It also focuses on students with special educational needs, the integration policy, developing teachers’ skills that are required for identifying those needs. Methods of teaching and managing students with special needs in mainstream classes such as curriculum adaptation and creating supportive classroom environments are also discussed in this course.
