The urban economics course will introduce space into economic models; the location of economic activity; the development of urban areas and the economic forces that lead to the growth and development of cities; the economic factors that determine how firms and households decide where to locate within given metropolitan areas; in addition, we will look at poverty, housing, gentrification and the environmental impact of urban concentrations.
