Introduction to fundamentals of fashion design, use and application. It encompasses the fashion design process from inspiration through production. It focuses on terminology, design trends and styles, elements and principles, the creative process of inspiration documentation and design experimentation. Students will explore different methods of communicating their designs and processes (manually and through computer software programs) through various projects and design journals. Lectures will cover the history and theories of fashion, fashion houses and designers, demands of market, and materials for fashion. (1hour theory, 9 hours practical).
