CHEM144 | CHEMISTRY FOR NURSING STUDENTS

General chemistry background: basic principles and measurements, energy changes, states of matter, atomic structure and periodicity, compounds and bonding, chemical reactions and stoichiometric calculations, gases, solutions, and acids and bases. The organic chemistry part includes nomenclature, isomers, hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, thiols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, stereochemistry, carboxylic acids and their derivatives (Lecture 4 hrs). Does not substituted for any of the following chemistry courses: (CHEM141, CHEM143, CHEM133, CHEM230).
