Specific characteristics and mechanisms of human body, the basic and general physiological mechanisms such as transport of ions and molecules across biological membranes and their different channel types, the neuronal and muscular excitability and their action potentials, the respiratory system including pulmonary ventilation, gas transport and gas exchange (Lecture 3 hours).
