The biology of molecules in cells. Chromosomal and molecular basis of inheritance focusing on eukaryotic genomes and their regulation. A special emphasis will be on DNA-based technology and genomics. Evolution and evolutionary mechanisms and the diversity of life. Examples of signaling mechanisms (immunity, hormones and sensation) demonstrating how small molecules affect the overall function of the animal (Lecture 3 hours).
