In this course, students will be exposed to a significant collection of Arabic/Palestinian folk proverbs accompanied with their original stories, fairytales, and idioms. This folkloric material will be used to trigger discussions about social/cultural aspects of Palestinian life and dialect. Students will be asked to re-contextualize the newly introduced material in short daily and monthly oral presentations. For the final project of this course, students will produce a short play in which they demonstrate their internalization of the class material.
