Walid Amin Kayyali, born in 1933, worked as a pharmacist with the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health for ten years before moving to the private sector. There he established Al-Hayat Pharmaceuticals, one of the most prominent agents and distributors of pharmaceuticals in the UK. Kayyali played a prominent role in reaching a number of manufacturing agreements between global pharmaceutical companies and the Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries Company (SPIMACO). He also was partner and governing board member of Medical Solutions Factory, and co-founded the National Factory for Vaccines, where he continues to head the Board of Directors today. Kayyali also established Riyadh Pharmaceutical Industries (Pharma) and is one of the most prominent supporters of the pharmacy profession in Saudi Arabia.
