Dr. El-Zabri obtained a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois in 1968. He is member of the BZU BoT Resource Development and Auditing Committees. Until January 2016, he was a member of the Board Administrative Committee. Dr. El Zabri is Deputy Governor for Palestine at the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), Chairman of the general assembly of the Welfare Association and member of Welfare Association committees such as the Strategy and Governance Committee, the Resource Development Committee, and the Programs and Projects Committee. He is also Chairperson of the Steering Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of the Student Loan Fund. He holds other posts, including as a member of the BoT and Executive Committee of Masarat, member of the Board of Directors and head of the Audit Committee at the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA), and member of the BoT of the Tamkeen program. He previously served as a member of the Board of Trustees of both the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute-MAS and the Arab Thought Forum in Amman. He was the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department for Economic Policy Analysis at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
