Dina Rizk Khoury is Professor Emeritus of History at George Washington University in Washington DC.
She is a graduate of the American University of Beirut (1977) and Georgetown University (1987).
Her research and writing have been funded by a John Simon Guggenheim fellowship as well as an American Council of Learned Society fellowship.
She is author of two books, State and Provincial Society in the Ottoman Empire: Mosul 1540-1834 and Iraq in Wartime: Soldiering, Martyrdom and Remembrance and several other journal articles and book chapters.
She has published in Arabic in the journals Ostour and Omran.
Her books have been translated to Arabic and published by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.
She was president of the Middle East Studies Association 2020-2021 and member of its Board of Directors (2019-2022).
She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Doha Institute of Graduate Studies, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Council of the Social Sciences.
