The External Academic Relations office is pleased to announce a funded opportunity for Visiting Professors at the University of Turin in Italy. This program offers international faculty the chance to lecture at one of Italy’s top universities within a wide range of academic disciplines.

Type of the scholarship: Academic Teaching Mobility for Faculty Members

Period or starting date: Academic Year 2025–2026 (First semester starts mid-September 2025; second semester starts mid-February 2026)

Available fields of study:

All scientific areas are eligible. The University of Turin is offering 170 positions open to faculty from both EU and non-EU universities to teach official undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Application Deadline: May 12th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. CEST

Funding: The scholarship provides:

  • A gross compensation of €300 per hour of teaching
  • Financial support for round-trip travel expenses, depending on the distance between the applicant’s institution and Turin (from €211 up to €1,735)
  • Insurance coverage for accidents and public liability during the contract period

Conditions:

  • Applicants must be currently employed by a non-Italian higher education or research institution
  • Each applicant can apply for a maximum of 2 positions but may only accept one
  • Candidates must not have had prior employment at the University of Turin in the last 5 years or hold certain legal incompatibilities (please consult full eligibility conditions in the call document)

Selection criteria:

  • Relevant teaching and academic experience in the proposed field
  • Professional background and academic qualifications
  • Publications and research activities connected to the proposed teaching
  • Additional criteria may apply depending on the course
