Scholarships for Palestinian Nationals – University of Malta – Malta Scholarship Starting Year: 2025

The External Academic Relations office is pleased to announce two fully funded Master’s scholarships offered by the Government of Malta in collaboration with the University of Malta for Palestinian nationals. These scholarships are designed to support postgraduate studies in key areas relevant to sustainable development and peacebuilding in Palestine.

Type of the scholarship: Master’s degree

Starting date & Period: Starting on 29 September 2025 (3 semesters of full-time study).
An orientation session will be held during the week of 24 September 2025.

Available fields of study:

  • Master of Arts in Humanitarian Action
  • Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution and Mediterranean Security (jointly with George Mason University, USA)

Application Deadline: 6 June 2025

Funding: The scholarship covers:

  • Full coverage of tuition fees for the Master’s program at the University of Malta
  • A monthly subsistence allowance of €1200 to cover accommodation, transport, living, and academic expenses
  • One return flight (Palestine–Malta–Palestine) capped at €1000
  • Visa expenses capped at €350

Conditions:

  • Only applicants who obtain full admission to one of the two eligible Master’s programs will be considered
  • Conditional offers are not accepted
  • Applicants must be Palestinian nationals residing in Palestine, and must show intent to return after studies
  • EU dual nationals are not eligible
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are active in public institutions or NGOs in Palestine and who would not be able to study abroad without financial support

Selection criteria:

  • Academic merit and motivation
  • Professional background and contribution to development in Palestine
  • English language proficiency (must be demonstrated by 1 July 2025)
  • Applicants will be required to attend an online interview

  • Application fee: €95 for Humanitarian Action | €120 for Conflict Resolution
  • Submit all required academic documentation through the portal
  1.  Scholarship Application: Send a separate email to the Director of the International Office at the University of Malta including:
  • A letter of motivation
  • Three letters of reference
  • CV (including mobile number)
  • Scanned copy of Palestinian passport
  • Subject line: Scholarship Palestine 2025

All documents must be submitted in one email. Incomplete applications or late submissions will not be considered.
