The External Academic Relations office is pleased to announce the funded MAECI Scholarships offered by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) for the academic year 2025–2026.
These scholarships are open exclusively to Palestinian citizens and support full-time academic study, research, and language training at public or legally recognized higher education institutions in Italy.
Type of the scholarship: Master’s, PhD, Research Projects, AFAM Programs (Fine Arts, Music, Dance), and Italian Language & Culture Courses.
Period or starting date:
- Academic programs: November 1, 2025 – July 31, 2026
- Language and Culture courses: January 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026
Available fields of study:
Programs offered at Italian universities in a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to:
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Political Science and International Relations
- Engineering and Technology
- Agriculture and Environmental Studies
- Health and Medical Sciences
- Fine Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM)
- Italian Language and Culture
Application Deadline: May 16, 2025 at 14:00 (CET)
Funding:
The scholarship covers:
- A total grant of up to €9,000 for most programs (disbursed in installments)
- Tuition fee exemptions at participating institutions (where applicable)
- Health insurance coverage for the duration of the scholarship
Conditions:
- Applicants must be Palestinian citizens living abroad with a valid passport or ID.
- Study must be conducted entirely in Italy at public or accredited institutions.

Age limits:
- Up to 28 years old for Master’s/AFAM/Language & Culture Courses
- Up to 30 years old for PhD
- Up to 40 years old for Research projects

Language proficiency required:
- For Italian-taught programs: B2 in Italian
- For English-taught programs: B2 in English
Selection criteria:
- Academic merit and qualifications
- Relevance and quality of the study or research proposal
- Language skills as required by the host institution
- Evaluation by the relevant Italian diplomatic mission
