Subject: Call for Applications: Hamburg Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS) Fellowship for the 2026-2027 Academic Year
The Office of External Academic Relations is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Hamburg Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS) Fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year. This prestigious fellowship offers researchers and artists from various disciplines a unique opportunity to work in a stimulating and interdisciplinary academic environment, allowing them to develop their research or artistic projects free from regular professional obligations. The institute places special emphasis on attracting scholars from underrepresented regions, making this an excellent opportunity for Palestinian researchers and artists.
Type of Fellowship:
A fully funded research and artistic fellowship lasting between 3 to 10 months.
Fellowship Duration: The HIAS academic year runs from September 1, 2026, to June 2027.
Note: Applicants may choose a fellowship period within this timeframe, excluding July and August.
Fields of Research and Study:
The fellowship is open to scholars from all academic disciplines, as well as artists and cultural professionals. While applicants from any field are welcome, HIAS particularly encourages projects that take an interdisciplinary approach or engage with globally significant issues.

- Proficiency in English or German (depending on project requirements and research activities).
