Detailed description of the training courses

This course provides practical training about effective communication in general, including body language, physical communication, verbal communication and electronic communication through social media. The course also provides the trainees with a deep and analytical understanding of the role of effective communication in international politics in both the Palestinian and the international context. Moreover, the course aims to present an introduction to communication of negotiation in international relations and in public diplomacy. This course also presents the communication skills used among working teams and groups with practical applications in different areas related to culture and gender.

This course aims to provide the trainees with the strategic thinking skills and the rules of the Game Theory. In this course, trainees will participate in evaluating the Game, distinguishing between simultaneous and sequential solutions and dealing with the Prisoner’s Dilemma. The course, moreover, presents practical cases to assess the strategic behaviors and attitudes

The course examines the planning process as a tool which have a political, economic, technical and social nature, and it examines planning and changing in the local community. In this course, several main issues in strategic planning will be presented, such as the notion of planning; its principles and its elements, analyzing the internal and external environment, identifying the theories and methods of making decisions, community participation and its role in community planning, and the local plans and their correlation with the national plans.

This course examines the theory and practice in resolving conflicts, facilitating discussions between the struggling groups, and developing abilities in groups management. Besides, the course provides the trainees with advanced skills of negotiation and persuasion methods, producing influential presentations, personal communication, art of public speaking, techniques of creative thinking, persuasion from a psychological perspective and manners of collective discussions and debates. This will be done through examining some of the cases related to the subject and through using practical applications.

This course sheds the light on the definition of diplomacy and its different concepts and on the relationship of diplomacy with the international politics, foreign policy, strategy and the public international law. The course also aims to provide the trainees with a deep understanding about the political and cultural impact of the modern media on the diplomatic system through understanding the theoretical and practical frameworks of the local and international media and of making local and foreign policies.
 

This course aims to help the trainees to develop a better understanding of struggles and conflicts through studying and analyzing conflict conceptually and theoretically. The course, besides, presents the most important current international conflicts and provides an analysis of the reasons and factors that stand behind the outbreak and continuation of those conflicts. This is in order to improve the trainees’ abilities in studying practical applications.

The overall objective of this course is to examine some of the important international issues in our contemporary world, focusing on the changes that occurred in the global system after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the political, economic and social impact of such changes on the whole world in general, and especially on the Arab world. The course also focuses on issues related to the Arab region, such as the Palestinian cause, and on other issues that are universal, such as the human rights issues, globalization, trade, international terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.

This course aims to improve the trainees’ abilities to maintain the reputation of the institutions in which they work. This is in addition to developing their relationships with all the stakeholders, such as the service providers and the target audience.

This course presents the main concept of forming a distinguishing identity for a nation. This is done through clarifying the concepts of marketing and public relations, and studying the ways by which a nation promotes itself through public diplomacy.

This course clarifies the concepts of international communication and media through identifying the tasks of the international media, its characteristics and the factors that stand behind its success or failure. This is in addition to identifying the international communication methods and means, including the diplomatic or formal channels and the informal methods. The course, moreover, identifies the most prominent features which characterize the current communication and information technology, focusing on the goals of the international media and its functions, on the international media and conflict management and on the international media within the foreign policy. Furthermore, the course presents, in detail, the international media within the international organizations and the manifestations of the international domination of the major agencies
