The Public Relations and Communication office at Birzeit University views itself as a showcase for the university by promoting all its administrative and academic departments and its centers and institutes.

The office fulfills its duties as part of a professional administrative system as the focal point for communication that serves as to increase its visibility of the university in the Palestinian and international communities.  

To further strengthen communication between the office and the various university departments and offices, the office has prepared a communications guide in Arabic and English.

The Public Relations office provides news coverage for all the university’s events and activities on a routine basis through the university’s media platforms. The press releases and multimedia content generated by the office are distributed to local and international media agencies and documented in regular newsletters published by the office.

Office publications:

On a routine basis, the Public Relations office publishes content that showcases the university and its achievements, such as Al Ghadeer Magazine, which is published on a bi-annual basis, and the annual report, which details the important milestones reached in education, community engagement, and university projects. The report also contains statistics on Birzeit University, facts and figures, and general information. Additionally, the office publishes a general brochure on the university that displays information on its faculties, departments, academic programs, centers, and institutes.

The Public Relations office continuously develops methods on maintaining its brand. The office also publishes brochures on special occasions, activities, and programs.

Organizational structure and areas of operation:

The Public Relations office comprises two units, an assistant director, an administrative assistant, and a lawyer. The two units, Communication and Media and Information, operate in four main areas:

Liaising and coordinating with print and broadcast media agencies and social media platforms, in addition to writing news reports and press releases, as well as preparing promotion plans for events and information brochures.

Documenting activities and lectures by photography and video, building a visual archive, producing films and video-graphics, preserving the university’s visual brand, and developing rich, multimedia content for the university’s website.

Preparing publications that highlight the university’s role in the community, its activities, and achievements, in addition to producing and designing brochures, pamphlets, reports, and various communication material.

Organizing events, activities, meetings, conferences, and festivals for the university’s constituents, in addition to attracting sponsors and coordinating with international, regional, and local delegations.
