Physical properties of the marine environment, general biological principles that help to dictate life in the seas, various parts of the marine environment including marine plankton, nekton, deep-sea ecology and intertidal ecology. Human impacts on the marine environment, paying particular attention to fisheries and pollution and their impacts on the seas and society (Lecture 3 hours).
