Birzeit University students to learn Chinese at Quds University Confucius Institute

Birzeit University and Al-Quds University signed an agreement on February 22, 2020, to teach the Chinese language through Confucius Institute, located on the campus of Al Quds University.

According to the agreement, Birzeit University students will be able to learn the Chinese language through Al-Quds University in a specialized training program that is supervised by Confucius Institute.

President of Birzeit University Abdullatif Abuhijleh and President of Al Quds University Imad Abu Kishek signed the agreement in a special ceremony attended by Ambassador of the Republic of China Guo Wei.

Abuhijleh expressed his enthusiasm for implementing this agreement, stressing the university’s commitment to enhancing the accumulation of knowledge through cultural exchange and international engagement.

Abu Kishek said that learning Chinese promotes friendly relations with China and reinforces ties with a country that economically and scientifically is one of the most powerful nations in the world.

The Confucius Institute at Al-Quds University aims to strengthen academic and educational cooperation with Chinese universities, utilizing Chinese language teaching and cultural exchange. Al-Quds University has taught Chinese since 2015, with Chinese teachers being sent from China through Confucius Institute’s Chinese headquarters starting in 2016.
