Erasmus+ info sessions detail scholarships, exchange opportunities in 2019

Birzeit University’s External Academic Relations Office organized two information sessions, on September 18 and October 1, 2019, detailing the scholarships and exchange opportunities available for undergraduate and postgraduate students under the Erasmus+ program in 2019.

In both sessions, Amir Khalil, the university’s external academic relations officer, gave a brief overview of Erasmus+ program, the International Credit Mobility scheme, and the participating European partner universities. He explained the registration procedures, program guidelines, and application requirements and introduced the credit equation procedures through which credits gained under the program are recognized by Birzeit University.

Encouraging the attending students to apply for the various Erasmus+ scholarships and -exchange programs, Khalil asserted that they offer “marvelous opportunities to experience and learn about new cultures, languages, and learning methods.”

Each year, more than 50 Birzeit University students spend a semester or more of their studies abroad under the Erasmus+ program that includes 56 universities in 22 different European Union countries.

At the end of the session, Erasmus+ alumni shared their experience with the program and detailed the skills they acquired during their studies abroad.
