University professor leads entrepreneurship workshop in Mauritania

Suhail Sultan, director of Birzeit University’s master’s program in business administration, discussed entrepreneurship and economic development in Mauritania in an eight-day workshop organized by the university together with the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency.

In this workshop, held from August 19 to 26, 2019, in Nouakchott, Sultan reviewed the entrepreneurial environment in Mauritania and discussed with the participants the skills and expertise needed to generate viable ideas and turn them into successful businesses.

The participating Mauritanian entrepreneurs presented nine distinct plans for launching  small businesses in which they detailed the respective sources of revenue, intended customer base, products, and details of financing.

Held in cooperation with Al-Manara for Islamic Funding and the Association for Friends of Education in Mauritania, the workshop is the initial step in an economic development program in Mauritania that is spearheaded by the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency.
