Workshop increases capacities of educators

The Institute of Environmental and Water Studies (IEWS) launched its first training workshop on capacity building of educators. The workshop is conducted as part of the institute’s cooperation with the Palestinian-Dutch Academic Cooperation Program (PADUCO 2).

The 5-day workshop hosted academics from six partner Palestinian universities. It aims to strengthen teachers’ skills and abilities to improve the learning outcomes of their classrooms, through implementing the interactive and learner-centered approaches rather than the teacher/textbook centered approach. The workshop highlighted the importance of reviewing and restructuring teaching curricula and pedagogy to ensure the implementation of the methods, in addition to developing partnerships with different universities and academics.
