New possible cooperation with University Sfax

Birzeit University and the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA) discussed prospects of academic cooperation with the University of Sfax in Tunisia, in a meeting with the Tunisian ambassador to the Palestinian Authority Habib Bin Farah.

The dean of student affairs at Birzeit University Mohammad Al Ahmad said that the university is particularly interested in establishing ties with Arab universities, especially the Tunisian in order to facilitate the development of the academic sector in the Arab region.

PICA Director General, Imad Al-Zuhairi, reaffirmed the importance of such programs that are considered as a practical translation for the historical relations between both countries on official and popular levels. He pointed out that academic cooperation programs are important in realizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially with universities like the University of Sfax that has high academic competencies on the international and Arab levels.

Ambassador Farah reaffirmed his country’s interest in providing all the necessary support for the success of this cooperation. He said that this partnership reflects the solid ties between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Diplomat Attaché from PICA, Khaled Abu Qare, Diplomat Attaché, Lamar Kirresh, and Ahmad Atari from BZU.
