B-Hub signs MoU with Reef Finance to cooperate on technical, business expertise

The B-Hub at Birzeit University signed a memorandum of understanding with Reef Finance, a financing organization that provides services to Palestine’s rural population - especially farmers - on Thursday, September 6, 2018.

The agreement was signed by Vice President for Community Affairs Dr. Asem Khalil, Director of the Center for Continuing Education Marwan Tarazi, and Organization Development Specialist Rasha Naser Aldean, together with Chairman of Reef Finance’s Board of Directors Isam Arouri, Financing Director Maha Hunaiti, and Public Relations Director Masa Khalifa.

Through the memorandum of understanding, experts from Birzeit University’s B-Hub will provide business development services to the companies related to Reef Finance and the company’s investors. Such services will bolster Reef Finance’s sustainability and create jobs in the local markets.

Khalil said that such agreements serve to develop the Palestinian private sector, and better integrate academia within the private sector’s operations, while Arouri noted that the memorandum paves the way for increased entrepreneurial funding.

The B-Hub is a European Union-funded platform that encourages innovation and provides a supportive environment for entrepreneurial projects by offering a multitude of consultancy and technical services.
