Palestinian firms, Birzeit University students meet and greet at university Career Day

Representatives from over 85 firms and organizations network with students on Birzeit University’s campus

Birzeit University’s annual Career Day was held on campus on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The event, held together with the Palestinian Telecommunication company (Paltel) and Jawwal, attracted various firms from all sectors of the Palestinian economy to network and interview students for future employment or internship opportunities.

Vice President for Academic Affairs at Birzeit University Dr. Faisal Awadallah commended the partner firms and institutions, saying that their cooperation with Birzeit University on the Career Day reflects the role of those firms in building the Palestinian state and supporting its youth.

“Through its annual Career Day, Birzeit University hosts representatives from the numerous Palestinian economic sectors to directly network with its graduates and students. Additionally, the Career Day also allows firms to attract competent graduates to fill its positions,” said Awadallah.

Awadallah further added that such events epitomize Birzeit University’s efforts to build strategic, sustainable connections with all private sector corporations and civil society institutions, allowing the university to keep abreast of the accelerating developments in all fields and to meet the needs of Palestinian companies and organizations through the university’s competent, qualified graduates.

Rania Maree, the director of marketing communications at Jawwal, noted that both Jawwal and Paltel provide sponsorship for career days in all Palestinian universities out of their belief in the importance of such events.

“As a way to give back to the Palestinian society, we support career days and provide internship and employment opportunities to Palestinian graduates and students,” she remarked.
