Business and Economics conference to highlight women entrepreneurs, promote entrepreneurial policies

The Faculty of Business and Economics at Birzeit University is preparing to hold the “Entrepreneurship in Occupied Palestine: Policies and Prospects” conference, which will be held on April 11, 2018. The conference will shed a light on entrepreneurship in the Palestinian context and explore key themes that showcase the importance of entrepreneurship in addressing the obstacles imposed by the Israeli Occupation.

Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics and conference chair Dr. Grace Khoury said that the conference revolves around two main themes: social/green entrepreneurship, which attempts to draw a line between commercial and social projects by understanding the goals, methods, and results of social projects, and women’s entrepreneurship, which explores the experiences and results of entrepreneurial trials to establish an integrated framework of policies that encourage female participation in entrepreneurship.

“The conference aims to highlight the obstacles and challenges that limit entrepreneurship and focuses on initiative policies, which can assist business owners in achieving their visions and facilitate entrepreneurship,” Khoury said.
