Birzeit University Media Students Cover Elections With Live Broadcast

Students of the Media Institute at Birzeit University spent the last week covering the Student Council elections through daily field reports and interviews held inside the studio. On the last day of vote counting, live coverage was broadcast through mobile microphones. The coverage was the work of students in the course, "Media Lab 331"

Many students at the campus switched their radios to the university radio station reporting that the coverage of elections was "clearer that what we see in front of our eyes" reflecting the high skills of the students and their ability to cover information and news during the elections.

Lecturer Walid Al-Omari, who supervised broadcasting on the last day, said, " This was an indicator that Birzeit Students specialized in media, are able to provide a coverage that is as good as the best stations in the area."

Many people in Birzeit village and the surrounding area listened to the election coverage through the Birzeit Radio. One lecturer, In'am Al- Obeidi, said that she listened to the broadcast and was very impressed by the work of the students.
