Birzeit University's Institute of Media Receives Award at Expo 2000 - Hanover

The Birzeit University Institute of Media recently participated in the Expo 2000 exhibition in Hanover City, Germany. The Institute was participating in the "Projects Around the World" section of the Expo, which are prepared yearly during the exhibition. Daniela Khalaf, coordinator of the radio training unit in the Media Institute, attended the exhibition and received an award on behalf of the Institute program, "Diversification in Media"

The program of the Institute was chosen along with another 100 programs out of around 800 programs that were presented from 124 countries from all over the world. It was the only program that particularly concerned the relationship between media and society. Another program from Palestine, presented by Talitha Kumi School in Bethlehem, won a prize related to its program for youth development.

The activities of the media institute will be represented in the Expo 2000 Exhibition until the end of October 2000.
