Opening of the Young Artists Exhibition

The Ethnography and Arts Museum has announced the opening of the "Young Artists" exhibition, in coordination with A. M. Qattan Foundation, Palestinian ART Court - Alhoash, Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center, and Ibrahim Abu Lughod Institute of International Studies.

The Young Artist Exhibition is part of the Exhibitions Program for 2011. aiming to introduce visual, contemporary arts to the university and the local community, exposing students to the special knowledge of art practice and its' unlimited potentials in questioning and interacting.

There are many concepts and technical methods used in the art works, which make the works energetic, rich contribution of thoughts and questions about what is political, social, and essentially human.

The duration of the exhibition is Feb. 12 - April 12, 2011, starting from Ibrahim Abu Lughod Institute of International Studies, where Jomana Manna's work was displayed in the Entrance Hall. Her work presents Jaffa's Kazakhani graveyard where the Palestinian intellectual Ibrahim Abu Lughod was buried. The work was installed in its' intellectual context, connecting the art practice with different search fields.
