Scientific Open Day offers insights on sustainability and creative engineering

The Department of Mechanics and Mechatronics Engineering held on May 23, 2017 a Scientific Open Day, which included lectures discussion panels and other scientific activities.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Khalid Abaza said that the Scientific Open Day is platform for students to discover and explore all the groundbreaking in the engineering research and academia.

Assistant to the Head of the Organizational Committee of the Open Day Sima Rishmawi said that the Day included a number of exciting activities including lectures on the Tip over stability of crawler cranes, dynamic and control design for under actuated manipulators and on energy management for a hybrid electronic vehicle.

Other activities, according to Rishmawi, were organized such as a discussion panel on Sustainable Engineering in Palestine, led by a number of professors.

Rishmawi said that the Scientific Open Day is an annual tradition. However, this year, the Organizational Committee was keen to offer a wide-variety of activities that would encourage students to attend and guarantee their maximum benefit beyond the classroom.
