BZU Celebrates Women on International Women’s Day

Birzeit University Community and Workers’ Union celebrated International Women’s Day, held annually on March 8, commemorating the achievements of women in Palestine and throughout the world. The celebration was in collaboration with Palestine Cellular Communications- Jawwal.

Faculty member Hanada Kharama opened the ceremony focusing on the prominent national, political and social roles of women in Palestine. She encouraged all institutions to work efficiently to reduce the gap between women and men, and achieve gender equity.

The Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs Rania Jaber said that Birzeit University has a strong commitment to providing excess to education, training and administrative positions for women at the university. “We provide opportunities for women worldwide to participate in cutting-edge professional development, exchange programs and pursue higher education.

At the end of the ceremony, faculty and staff members Laila Dabit, Fayza Obaid were honored for their distinguished roles in Birzeit University.
