The Office of Academic Affairs and Public Relations Office at BZU, In partnership with the British Council organizes an orientation Session on  "Nawal Al-Sharif Scholarship" in which Dr. Gerard Clarke, a senior member of the Swansea University, Department of Political and Cultural Studies will be making a presentation on their scheme of postgraduate scholarship opportunities for Palestine.

Students and faculty members, who wished to pursue postgraduate studies in Politics, International Relations, Media Studies, International Development and American Studies have attended. -.
The scholarship was named after the late Nawal Al-Sharif who, at the time of her untimely death, was Director of the Social Development Training Centre at ZENID in Jordan. Prior to that, Nawal was Director of Planning at Jordan's Ministry of Social Development. In both organisations, she played a key role in the capacity building project managed by staff at Swansea University on behalf of the UK's Department for International Development (DfID). Staff and associates of the University who worked in Jordan wanted to demonstrate their respect for Nawal's extraordinary commitment to social development, and established this scholarship in her name.

The above scholarship is specifically aimed at students of Jordanian and Palestinian origin who have an excellent academic track record and who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the above subjects at Swansea University.
