Implementation of mini-research projects during study years, and ability to propose creative ideas in the industries and pharmaceutical analysis that generates financial support through relations with local and Italian pharmaceutical factories and through research centers in Italian and European universities.
A Five years’ work experience as a research assistant at Al Quds University in Drug Discovery Labs, Mr. Thawabteh’s responsibility included tasks related to chemical synthesis and purification of novel drugs and prodrugs, identification and characterization of unknown compounds using spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques, HPLC, LC-MS, GC, UV-VIS, FT-IR and NMR
Design, synthesis, characterization, In vitro and In vivo studies of prodrug systems to be used for the delivery for certain drugs that have poor water solubility or/and have low bioavailability using AB initio, DFT, semi- empirical, molecular mechanics as well as molecular dynamics and conformational dynamics methods.
Design and installing linkers to be used for masking bitter taste of drugs that contain a hydroxyl or amine groups (antimalarial, anti- hypertension, anti-bleeding, antibacterial and anticancer drugs) using DFT calculation methods.
Computational chemistry software’s: Gaussian 09, GaussView 6, Molden, ArgusLab, PerkinElmer ChemDraw and ChemOffice. Microsoft Office: Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. SigmaPlot: Scientific Data Analysis and Graphing Software, Mestrelab Mnova NMR software.
