This year, BZU through the Office of Academic Affairs has worked on supporting and following-up research activities, and the process of supporting scientific research has been institutionalized through the formation of a funding and follow-up committee for supported scientific research by BZU has drafted forms for requests for scientific research and follow-up of the supported projects. Also, instructions on research were circulated to define the role of different units in this context, and determine the relationship with the financial system in this regard.

This academic year has witnessed the allocation of resources to encourage scientific research, in terms of offering 26 grants to BZU faculty members to conduct research, in addition to 85 grants obtained by BZU faculties and institutes from regional and international institutions.

Moreover, BZU has provided financial support for faculty participations in international, regional and local scientific conferences, T academic year he 2009/2010 has seen significant academic research activities, where researchers from different disciplines at the faculties, institutes and centers, have published numerous articles in refereed scientific journals, and presented working papers at international, regional and local scientific conferences. Also, the researchers and faculty members contributed to the publication of several books, studies, reports and periodicals, amounting to 342 research papers.

Scientific articles:

The faculty members and researchers at BZU faculties, institutes and centers, have published 135 scientific articles in both Arabic and English, which were published in scientific journals, (see Appendix No. 1 page ..)

Research contributions to  international, regional and local conferences and workshops

A number of faculty members, researchers, and staff  members of BZU community institutes and centers have  participated in international, regional and local conferences, and have presented working papers, amounting to 113 research papers in both Arabic and English (see Table (1) Page .. )

Books, Studies, Reports, Periodicals:

A number of faculty members, researchers, and staff  members of BZU community institutes and centers have published approximately (43) books and book  contributions, including: (30) books and book contributions in Arabic, and (23) books and book contributions in English. 21 published (21) studies in Arabic and English have been , and (5) reports in English, and (14) periodical in Arabic and one in English. 49 MA theses have been discussed in both Arabic and English languages (See Appendix VII, page ...)

Participation in conferences

In addition to the active participation in conferences, a number of researchers and faculty members from various fields and disciplines have participated in international conferences and workshops, amounting to 56 international conference and workshop. (See Appendix VIII, page...).

Funded research

In achievement of BZU's role in the development of scientific research, a number of research papers have been conducted  during the year 2009/2010, amounting to 111 funded research papers (See Table IX page ..).
