The Quality Assurance Unit at Birzeit University in cooperation with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC) and the British Council held a workshop on Saturday, 7 March 2009, entitled "Intended Learning Outcomes" with the participation of Professor Robert Schofield.

The workshop addressed the methodology of designing academic program plans at the university level based on determining the specifications that program graduates must have, in addition to studying the labor market needs and the required skills for the graduates' success in their area of specialization.

Professor Schofiled had met with the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdel Latif Abu Hijleh and his assistant, Dr. Mirvat Bulbul, praising the level of the graduates of Palestinian academic institutions and their competencies which are considered an excellent indicator of the quality of education.

Dr. Abu Hijleh expressed his gratitude to AQAC and the British Council for holding this workshop that will contribute to raising the quality of education in Palestinian universities and will support the excellence that Birzeit University seeks.

The workshop is being held at various Palestinian universities through support from AQAC and the British Council.
