Workshop Entitled:"Challenges Facing Palestinian Women: Perspective of Young Female Palestinians"

The Birzeit University Institute of Women's Studies in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Shashat, held on 7 May 2015, a workshop to analyze the film: " Challenges Facing Palestinian Women: Perspective of Young Female Palestinians," whereas two films were screened: the first "Drying Rack " and the second film, "five cups and a cup", in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Social Affairs, Shashat, as well as a number of faculty members and students.

The film “Drying  Rack " addresses the verbal sexual harassment issue, which touches on women and degrades her cultural and academic status and cancels the concept of dignity that is a recipe for humanity.

The events of the film "Five cups and a cup " focused  on a group of educated and activist Palestinian women, as they were discussing the need to change the personal status law, while drinking coffee.

In fact, this workshop is the second in the series of workshops, organized by the Institute of Women's Studies, aiming to raise awareness of women's issues and rights.
