Media Development Center Organizes Stress Relief Sessions for Journalists in Gaza

A group of journalists expressed their feelings and thoughts in drawings after covering the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The set of exercises and activities was designed by psychiatrist Tayseer Diab to encourage journalists to express traumatic experiences from which they have recently suffered.

Gaza center coordinator Samia al-Zubaidi said that the center is responded to journalists’ need to let off steam, as most of them are suffering from psychological repercussions left by the brutality of the 52-day aggression.

She said that the center has organized two full day sessions for journalists, and will be organizing another day in the future, due to increasing demand.

The activities are part of the National Strategic Media Plan adopted by the center that aims at building Palestinian journalists’ capabilities. They are funded by the Swedish International Development Agency "Sida."
