The UNESCO Chair in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Birzeit University is organizing a Mathematics Summer School in  “Differential Geometry and  Numerical Analysis” to be held at Birzeit University, June 29 - July 4, 2013. This school is intended for graduate students and faculty members/researchers in Mathematics and related fields from all Palestinian universities.

The lecturers will be:

 Dr. Francis Lazarus (GIPSA-Lab, Grenoble) : Spline Curves and Surfaces

Dr. Romain Tessera (ENS-Lyon) : Curves and Surfaces in R³

Dr. Boris Thibert (U. Joseph Fourier, Grenoble) : Discrete Curvatures 

Dr. Max Wardetzky (U. Goettingen) : Discrete Laplacian

Dr. Vincent Borrelli (U. Lyon I) : Convex Integration Theory

Dr. Ahmed Khamayseh (PPU) : Curve and Surface Mesh Generation and Optimization.

There will also be talks by Professors Etienne Ghys and Cedric Villani (Fields Medal, 2010). Professor Edriss Titi will also be participating for the full duration of the school.
