On February 7, 2013, Birzeit University President Khalil Hindi signed a cooperation agreement with Wataniya Mobile Company CEO Fayez Husseini.

 

 

 

According to the agreement, Wataniya will sponsor Open Days for the faculties of Business and Economics and Science, and the Information Technology Expo, in addition to providing an in-kind contribution to the orientation program for new students. In exchange, BZU will offer the company a permanent on-campus location for Wataniya Mobile to conduct customer service, marketing and product sales.

Hindi commended this type of cooperation that promotes corporate social responsibility in Palestine. "We seek to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and push towards the development of higher education in Palestine.”

 

 

Husseini expressed his pride in BZU for its academic and national roles in community service. "This agreement is the beginning of an enduring cooperation that we seek to develop. We at Wataniya Mobile Company are committed to Palestinian students, who are our promising future and the basis for the prosperity of the Palestinian state," he asserted.
