Public Administration/Minor Economics

To prepare capable and skillful administrative leaders in order to fulfill the administrative and economic needs of the public and the civil sectors in a way that meets the needs of the local, regional, and international labor market; furthermore, to prepare graduates who are able to conduct applied and scientific research that combines both professionalism and innovation; and to develop the skills and the abilities of critical and innovative thinking in our students and enable them to develop innovative and creative solutions to what may face in their areas of specialization, and to prepare them for graduate studies.

  • Studying the institutional framework as well as the structures, functions, and processes of public sector organizations as it relates to economic matters through a multi-dimensional lens, which affords the student to build institutional and professional capabilities with an economic focus, which will help elevate the performance of the Palestinian public sector, especially in the economic arena.
  • Developing leadership, administrative and research skills in the graduates of the program.
  • Raising and strengthening awareness of civil service ethics and the national system of integrity, transparency, and accountability in the discipline of public administration and economics. 
  • Help students to understand major administrative and economic issues facing our society and identify some ways to resolve them; and strengthen the will and ability to contribute to the achievements of Palestinian development goals.
  • Graduates who understand the current scientific theories and concepts in the field of public administration and economics on the local as well as the regional and international level.
  • Graduates, who possess necessary administrative and economic skills to manage, organize and execute required processes relevant to economic issues to elevate the performance of public organizations.
  • Graduates who understand the legal, political, and economic environment of the Palestinian public sector.
  • Graduates who are able to serve the public sector and the public civil organizations and who actively contribute by offering economic alternatives and policies that enable them to bypass problems with economic dimension they may face.
  • An administrative class that contributes to the making and analysis of public policy (specifically relevant to economic issues).
  • Graduates who have the required administrative and managerial skills to resolve public problems with economic dimension and to make effective decisions and apply critical thinking in areas of leadership in the public and civil sectors.
  • Graduates who possess administrative skills for conflict resolution at work; work within a team or/and lead teams; strategic management; communication skills; and project management.  
  • Graduates who have the skills in public finance and budget management; account preparation and financial analysis and year end statement for the state budgets.
  • Graduates who possess the required knowledge and ability to apply critical thinking and scientific research to resolve economic problems as well as achieving local development.
  • Graduates who have key research skills that address society needs, with economic relevance.
  • Graduates who know the ethical value system of the profession and the code of conduct for their work.
  • A class of leaders who are familiar with the latest ways and means in combating corruption in its various administrative, financial and ethical forms.
  • Graduates who are strengthened by good patriotic fervor to build and develop civil organizations on the local, regional, and international sector and contribute to building a flourishing national economy.
  • Graduates contributing to the preparation of developmental plans with economic dimension that upscale public organizations.
  • A new generation of public leaders who master the scientific research methodologies that contributes to solving economic, social, and political public challenges.
