Major Political Science/ Minor Public Administration

Advance the level of education in Political Science through the construction and development of skills and knowledge of students to hone and enhance their abilities to work in the field of Political Science in addition to enabling them to acquire the capabilities that qualifies them to complete their higher education.

  • Provide the public institutions of the Palestinian National Authority and inform them of the strong link this field with other related sciences, such as economics, public administration and law.
  • Provide qualified staff for research centers with a high level of education and knowledge are in contact with the theoretical and practical aspects of their field, and specialize in more than one academic field related to their professional life and is capable of combining the academic study and practical application on the long run.
  • Encourage multiple fields of academic study.
  • Achieve a higher of professionalism and specialization in the political field and public work through providing the qualified cadres in this area.
  • Contribute to increasing the sense of knowledge in the political affairs of the Palestinian society.
  • Knowledge of the field of Political Science in terms of its branches, concepts and research methodologies used in the field.
  • Understanding of the different theories and schools of thought in political sciences and its subsidiaries.
  • Understanding the basic political processes, institutions and actors on the domestic and international realm. 
  • Enable students to analyze political issues and phenomenon through using concepts and theories of political science.
  • Understand and undertake comparative work on different case studies and international issues. 
  • Enable and encourage critical thinking and analytical reading.
  • Demonstrate competence in thinking in a systematic manner regarding political interactions in local and international contexts.
  • Analyze and explain the relationship between economics, politics, culture and other factors within and outside the state.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of political systems in the world and be capable of comparing them.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read clearly about political issues, including the ability to reach and evaluate a group of wide available resources and use them to back up arguments.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate professionally with staff in state institutions on an internal and external level.
