Trivia quiz tests students’ familiarity with international humanitarian law

Students tested their knowledge in International Humanitarian Law in a trivia challenge held at Birzeit University on November 19, 2019. Organizing the challenge were the Department of Law at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Facilitated by Riad Mustafa, the organizer and presenter of Palestine Quiz Night, 48 students participated in the challenge in eight teams of six students. They were asked questions about legal issues and rules related to general topics in humanitarian law.

After completing seven levels, the “Nael Al Barghouthi Prisoner” team won the challenge. It comprised the students Abeer Barghouthi, Mohyi Barghouthi, Taima Mahareeq, Alaa Tayem, Tareq Hassouneh, and Mahmoud Abu Sneineh. Each student was awarded a laptop.

Attending the challenge were Hala al-Shoaibi, chair of the Department of Law, and Hussein Ayaseh, Yaser Amouri and Ashraf Siam, faculty members at the department, as well as Ashraf D’aibes and Suha Musleh from the ICRC.
