Students strap in for all-day film marathon

Birzeit University students attended the screenings of three films on the fourth Cinema Day, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs’ Cinema Club, on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

The all-day cinema marathon includes three comedy films: “The Gold Rush,” “Al Hodoud” (The Borders), and “Sami Oxide El Carbone.” Mohammad Al-Haj Ahmad, the coordinator of student activities at the Deanship of Student Affairs, explained that Cinema Day was designed to allow as many students as possible to attend the screenings.

Cinema Club, established in 2009, regularly hosts screenings of films chosen by its members. Originally, the club was created to highlight Palestinian movies that were screened only at film festivals, but as its membership increased, choices broadened as well to include a variety of genres such as action, comedy and drama.
