Students show their talents at Culture and Arts Festival

Birzeit University hosted on March 4, 2017 the Second Annual Students Festival of Culture and Arts, organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher-Education, and in cooperation with the higher-education institutions. The festival included several of cultural activities including theatrical performances, singing, drawing, Dabkah, folkloric modeling shows and movie screenings.

Students from Palestinian universities and representatives from the higher-education institutions attended the event.

The University President Abdullatif Abuhijleh expressed his enthusiasm about this festival which brings happiness and optimism. “We must invest in our student. Their energies and talents should be highlighted, empowered and encouraged.”

The Minister of Education and Higher Education Sabri Saidam said that art is more than a collection of images and events. “Through arts we can reflect our cause to the world. We can speak out about our steadfastness on our land and our hope in our bright future that these youth will bring.”

Saidam reaffirmed the ministry’s mission to refine and polish the students’ talents, alluding to the ministry’s preparations of launching “Theater and Poetry Days” at the Palestinian Schools to supporting students talents.  

Member at the Directorate General of Students’ Activities Khalil Abu Elbeh assured that this festival reflects  youth’s creativity and innovation. “Arts and Cultures are our means to grow and prosper.”
