The signing of a cooperation agreement between the Institute of Community and Public Health at BZU and the United Nations Population Fund

The BZU President, Dr. Khalil Hindi, and the Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the oPt, Ms. Barbara Piazza-Georgi, signed a cooperation agreement between the Institute of Public and Community Health (ICPH) and the UNFPA,  in the presence of the Acting Director of ICPH, Dr. Abdul-Latif al-Husseini, to support the project entitled: "Strengthening the capacities in population data production and analysis, as part of a previously implemented  project by ICPH on population and development. 

On 11 April 2011,  Dr. Hindi met in his office with the Representative of the UNFPA, Ms. Barbara Piazza-Georgi and her deputy, Ms. Elke Mayrhofer, and the project coordinator for Population and Development component, Ms. Sana Asi, in the presence of the Acting Director of the ICPH, Dr. Abdul-Latif al-Husseini, and the project coordinator, Dr. Nivine Abu-Rummaileh, in order to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two parties.

The agreement aims at supporting research on population by using data outputs from national surveys, and at training of junior researchers and government employees on the use of population data for planning and preparing programs.

The project's duration  is three years starting from 1 April 2011 and ending on 31st  December 2013.
