Science and Technology Museum To Inspire Young Minds

The Birzeit University Faculty of Science launched on April 15, 2013 the Science and Technology Museum, an ambitious project that aims to introduce science and scientific thinking to Palestinian society, especially to Palestinian children, and link theory with practice.
The museum’s opening ceremony was attended by President Khalil Hindi, Vice President for Academic Affairs Adnan Yahya, Faculty of Science Dean Wael Karain, and a number of faculty members, staff and students.
Hindi expressed his pleasure at the opening of the Science and Technology Museum, which will contribute to planting the love of knowledge and education in young students’ minds, and will provide an experimental environment for theoretical material studied by students in schools and universities.
Karain said that the museum will include scientific materials and experiments in the various fields of science: physics, chemistry, mathematics, geology and biology, and will also include a display of technological materials such as hardware and electronic computers.
"This project is the fruit of long years of hard work, leading up to this museum’s inauguration as an important step towards enhancing education on all levels,” Karain said.
