Professor participates in international scientific conference in Mexico
The Chairperson of the Department of Biology and Biochemistry at Birzeit University, Dr. Johnny Stiban, participated in the 15th International Conference on Bioactive Lipids in Cancer, Inflammation and Related Diseases, held in the coastal town of Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
Dr. Stiban presented his work on the effects of insulin and glucagon on the phosphorylation of ceramide synthase enzymes and their effects on cancer cell death in an oral presentation.
This presentation was the only scientific research coming from Palestine and the Arab world in the international conference.
The conference hosted a plethora of international experts and respected scientists in the fields of lipid biochemistry and tumor and inflammation biology from many countries.
