PAS program chair participates in Erasmus+ International Staff Training Week

Tagreed Abed, assistant professor and program chair of the Palestine and Arabic Studies Program (PAS) at Birzeit University, participated in the fourth Erasmus+ International Staff Training Week, held at the University of Santiago, Spain, from November 4 to 8, 2019.

The staff week detailed the processes for applying to Erasmus+ programs, communicated what countries are eligible, and explained the criteria for evaluating projects.

Forty participants from different countries participated in the staff week. They presented reports on how their institutions’ engagement in Erasmus+ cooperation and exchange programs impact on their institutions.

Abed introduced PAS and highlighted the courses the program offers. She voiced Birzeit University’s interest in building a solid relationship with the University of Santiago. In turn, Juan Viaño Rey, rector of the University of Santiago, expressed his university’s willingness to increase cooperation with international universities under the umbrella of the Erasmus+ program.
