Palestinian International Book Fair to include Birzeit University publications

Palestine’s biggest cultural event will host more than 500 publishers

Birzeit University, in line with its community engagement objectives and its mission to raise awareness of local Palestinian culture, will showcase its publications in the 11thPalestinian International Book Fair, which takes place between May 3 and May 13, 2018.

The Ministry of Culture allocated a nine-square-meter booth for the university at the fair – free of charge – to bolster cooperation and relationships with Palestinian institutions and encourage the preservation of the Palestinian culture.

The fair, held under the theme “Palestine is the Homeland and Jerusalem is the Capital,” revolves around two main concepts:  asserting that Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine and marking 70 years since the Palestinian Nakba of 1948.

The Palestinian International Book Fair will be held in the Palestinian National Library, a 5000-square meter library located in Surda. The event, considered the cultural highlight of Palestine, will host 500 Palestinian and Arab publishers.
