Legal workshop in Amman addresses investment disputes and arbitration

The Faculty of Law and Public Administration at Birzeit University held on February 17, 2017 a two-day workshop on Investment Disputes in Amman, Jordan, presented by the President of the American University of Madaba.

The training workshop is part of “The Development of Criminal Law Master’s Program”; a joint-work between the University of Al-Quds, An Najah University and Birzeit University, in cooperation with the European Union.

The workshop targeted 18 professors from the law faculties at the three universities. The training explored the role of the Arab and International Courts of Arbitration, the bilingual and collective investment agreements and what should they consist of in order to guarantee the state’s national security, and the state’s regulations independency, arbitration in international trade pacts…etc.

The Dean of the Faulty of Law and Public Administration Yasser Amour said that such interactive workshops are very important to enlighten our academic staff and students on current, controversial and legal issues that can enrich their academic and practical experience.

Lecturer George Hazboun is an active member at a number of professional institutions including: American Arbitration Association, Canadian Commercial Arbitration Centre, the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, and represented a number of countries and multinational companies. He published around 40 legal researches.
